PETROFAC Training has landed a £3.5million contract with oil giant BP which will lead to 10 jobs in the north-east.
The three-year deal will include identifying and scheduling all training requirements for 2,000-plus UK-based BP employees working in the North Sea.
Petrofac Training service-development director, Peter Conner, said: “This is a significant contract and we are delighted to be able to replicate in the UK the good work we have previously carried out for BP in the Gulf of Mexico and Sharjah.”
The deal will create 10 posts at Petrofac Training’s Montrose facility.
BP human-resources director Ken Boyle said: “Petrofac’s training management package will enable us to identify and provide the appropriate training for our employees, in order to maintain our high operational standards.
“We see many benefits of working with Petrofac and they were successful in the tendering process for a number of reasons, including the company’s experience, track record within the oil and gas industry and considerable knowledge of BP across our global operations.”
