Norwegian engineering and construction firm Kvaerner will carry out another £45 million pounds worth of work on Equinor’s Njord A platform.
Kvaerner will prepare the platform to receive oil from the Fenja field. The work will be completed during spring 2020.
Kvaerner earlier won a contract to upgrade the platform, which will also take in oil from the Bauge and Hyme fields.
But Equinor’s decision to tie Fenja back to Njord, as well, means the facility will require extra capability.
