ABERDEEN firm Motion Software has won two contracts worth more than £100,000 with energy-sector firms.
The company, which specialises in a range of tailor-made software services from asset tracking to certification management, will provide its products to Redback Drilling Tools in 15 global locations.
Motion has already completed its contract for Aberdeen-based ATR Group. The software specialist started on the project 24 hours after being contacted by the offshore oil and gas tool rental specialist. Motion will now provide Australian-owned Redback Drilling Tools with software to handle tasks including sales and purchase order processing, asset management, certification and maintenance and invoicing.
The software, which allows access via desktop and mobile devices and utilises web delivery for remote workers, is to be rolled out to 15 Redback locations worldwide.
Stephen Burt, managing director of Motion Software, said: “We’re delighted to have won these two major contracts. Both solutions provide ease of access, accountability and efficiencies. We’ve worked with Redback Drilling Tools for a number of years and built up an excellent relationship.”
The rolling contract with Redback Drilling Tools – part of SGS Australia – includes design, development, implementation, training and ongoing support.
Motion is on target to increase its turnover for the year to May by 50% to £700,000 and is in the process of expanding its current site at Grandholm’s Venue Business Centre in Aberdeen. The seven-year-old company is also looking to take on two more software developers and a business analyst to cope with extra work.
