STAFF at ESS Support Services Worldwide, the Aberdeen-based catering and facility-management subsidiary of international foodservice firm Compass Group, are celebrating winning a lucrative contract.
ESS has landed a three-year deal, worth £12million, with French-owned oil and gas service company Technip UK.
The north-east operation will provide catering and hotel services for Technip vessels in several regions, including the North Sea, west Africa and Brazil.
A spokeswoman for ESS, whose Aberdeen operation employs 40 people managing a 1,500 strong global workforce, said the deal meant no new jobs but would safeguard existing positions.
Speaking at Technip UK’s site at Westhill, near Aberdeen, yesterday, ESS Support Services Worldwide managing director Alain Morize said the contract built on an excellent operational relationship between the two firms.
Steve Woodward, senior vice-president of offshore operation services at Technip, added: “Technip has an excellent relationship with ESS and is looking forward to continuing to work with them.”
The contract award came after a competitive tendering process and follows the recent appointments by ESS Support Services Worldwide of Mr Morize and business-development director John Wigglesworth.
