IF TRAVEL really broadens the mind, the president of the Scomi Group’s oilfield services division, Chris Pianca, should be on Mastermind every week.
The veteran oilman was in Aberdeen the other day for the launch of his company’s liquid mud plant at Pocra Quay.
However, Scomi has a presence in 36 countries, so Chris is airborne much of the time from his base in Singapore. Indeed, Singapore Airlines have made him a life member because he has done three million miles with them.
MSP Brian Adam declared the Pocra Quay facility open. Australian Ken Carlsson, who is regional manager for Europe, runs the Aberdeen operation, which includes offices at Bridge of Don.
Chris is a lifelong fan of Fulham FC and touches down often enough in London to see them play about six times a year.
