NEW Aberdeenshire premises are helping a north-east company take its international business to the next level after just two-and-a-half years of trading.
ThinJack, which is headed by directors Guy Bromby and Alastair MacDonald, moved in May from Kirkton of Skene to a larger workshop and offices at Arnhall Business Park, Westhill, after its turnover more than doubled to £500,000 in the year to March 31. The company has also created two new jobs, taking its payroll to five including the directors. In addition it has access to three freelance engineers as required.
ThinJack is a patented steel envelope which can be inflated with 2,000 bar of hydraulic pressure to exert hundreds of tonnes of force, making it an ideal separating and jacking solution in hazardous, difficult or restricted areas. It is part-manufactured in Norway and assembled and tested at Westhill. The service is primarily used for the separation of seized well flanges and it can also be used to remove concrete weight coat from pipelines.
ThinJack has been identified by Business Gateway as having growth status, which involves meeting a variety of rigorous criteria including aiming to increase turnover by £400,000 in three years. The company has been assisted by Business Gateway with advice and marketing support.
Mr Bromby said: “Our main regions of business are the North Sea, Australia and the Gulf of Mexico and 88% of our business is done in overseas markets.
“The new premises at Arnhall Business Park will enable us to better serve our growing client base across the globe.”
