Dron and Dickson, a specialist in design, supply and maintenance of hazardous-area electrical equipment, now has full membership of the Industrial Rope Access Trade Association (Irata).
Members are required to abide by a code of ethics and are subject to a strict auditing process to ensure that the association’s requirements for quality assurance, safety, training and working practices are being met.
Following an audit of the company’s Aberdeen operation by an independent third-party assessor, D&D’s full membership was approved. Paul Guntrip, the firm’s rope-access manager, said: “Gaining full Irata membership gives us complete ownership over the rope-access competency and training regime, allowing for much tighter control on quality.
“Irata approval also assures our clients of the very highest safety standards.”
The company employs more than 200 people off and onshore. In addition to targeting growth in the oil and gas sector, D&D operates in the renewables and decommissioning markets. It also works in sectors ranging from pharmaceuticals to distilleries.
