A DELEGATION of UK subsea companies will head to Texas next week to showcase their skills and expertise at a two-day exhibition and seminar.
Fourteen companies, led by industry body Subsea UK, will travel to San Antonio on Tuesday to join 150 exhibitors and an estimated 2,500 international visitors at the ninth annual Subsea Tieback Forum and Exhibition.
Subsea UK chief executive Alistair Birnie said: “The US is a key region for subsea companies because of its concentration of key operators and contractors working in the US and the Gulf of Mexico.
“Production from deepwater areas of the Gulf of Mexico has been increasing rapidly, with deepwater wells now accounting for about two-thirds of total US Gulf output and the region’s reputation as a hub of global activity in the oil and gas sector makes it a real target for UK subsea companies.”
The event will focus this year on the necessity for sharing knowledge and experience in an ever-changing industry where quality, safety and economics are crucial factors to its continuing success.
Mr Birnie added: “The UK’s subsea companies are active in the full-life cycle of the industry from research and development through to the operation of producing oil and gas fields and can offer an unrivalled package of experience and knowledge. The exhibition represents a prime opportunity for us to highlight the skills and capabilities of our subsea companies to a very important audience.”
