GLOBAL shipping and energy service firm Craig Group, of Aberdeen, said yesterday its Craig International Supplies (CIS) division had won contract renewals worth an estimated £35million over five years.
CIS, which provides oilfield procurement services to the international energy industry, landed the deals from Nexen Petroleum UK, Transocean, Chevron North Sea and Chevron USA Incorporated.
Craig Group said: “As a result of these contracts CIS will supply regions including the North Sea, west and south Africa, the US, South America and Thailand.”
The extra work represents the retention of some of the biggest clients at CIS, said Craig Group, adding that it also cemented the firm’s position as the “largest privately owned procurement house in Europe operating in the oil and gas industry”.
CIS, led by managing director Dave Allen, was created in 1998 as “a new force” in the global oil and gas supply market.
It was formed by bringing together Craig Group Marine, DIC Supplies and Services, and Petroleum Equipment International.
Craig Group, whose businesses now have combined turnover of more than £100nillion a year and employ more than 1,000 people worldwide, had a controlling interest in all three.
