Neptune Energy has appointed a former Shell boss as its new chief financial officer.
Armand Lumens was most recently CFO of agricultural and shipping merchant, Louis Dreyfus Company.
Prior to that he spent 20 years with energy giant Shell in various senior positions, latterly working as chief financial officer of Shell Trading and Supply.
Mr Lumens will join Neptune on December 1.
Neptune said its current CFO, Peter Thomas, will assist with the transition and will “remain involved in the future development and growth of the company”.
Executive chairman of Neptune, Sam Laidlaw, said: “I’m delighted with that Armand is joining the Neptune management team. His deep knowledge and experience of energy and capital markets further strengthens the team for the next chapter of growth and demonstrates our ambition to be the leading international independent E&P company.
“I am enormously grateful to Peter for the formative role he played in the company’s creation and the fundamental role he continues to play in its development. Without him we would not be the successful company we are today.”
Neptune Energy last month completed the acquisition of energy service provider VNG Norge, to become one of the largest independent producers in Norway.
The Cygnus and Juliet fields are among the firm’s UK assets in the southern North Sea.
