THE chief executive of Energy North is in Louisiana this week to explore joint venture opportunities for the region’s oil and gas supply chain companies.
Ian Couper, who will represent over 100 members across the north of Scotland, is attending energy event LAGCOE at the request of Louisiana Economic Development (LED).
The call for Energy North representation came after LED recognised potential for joint venture working between companies in the Gulf of Mexico and the North Sea. Mr Couper’s trip is part of a Scottish Development International trade mission.
He said: “The Highland and islands together with Aberdeen has some of the world’s leading supply chain organisations.
“Our expertise has been recognised by several American companies who are enthusiastic about working with our members. This is a hugely-exciting opportunity for our membership.”
