An Aberdeen oil service company said yesterday it had landed seven new contracts totalling £5.5million last month.
Among qedi’s latest business wins are deals awarded by BP, Agip, Lundin, Marathon, Talisman and BG Group.
The fast growing firm had turnover of more than £38million last year and is expecting this to increase by up to 40% in 2010.
Qedi has taken on an extra 20 staff since September and continues to add to its worldwide workforce.
Total employee numbers in the past few years have grown to more than 300 from 100 and there are plans for a further 60 recruits in the next 12 months.
Managing director Stuart McLeod said: “Qedi has successfully achieved considerable growth by progressively capturing a significant share of the global completions and commissioning management marketplace.
“We are already involved with more than 40 major capital expenditure and operational oil and gas projects in Australasia, the Caspian, the Gulf of Mexico, Alaska, west Africa, Europe and the North Sea.
“The additional new contracts reinforce qedi’s capabilities and further strengthen the foundations for our ambitious growth.
“In the last 12 months, our carefully developed business strategy has seen qedi become a main player in the field of managing flawless completions and commissioning delivery.
“Qedi is now strongly positioned to capitalise on future opportunities for continued growth and expansion.”
The firm’s GO Technology is a web-enabled project-management suite of software that provides programmes for the management and execution of both commissioning and start-up of oil and gas facilities.
GO Technology is being used worldwide on platforms, floating production vessels, refineries and subsea projects. In 2009, qedi secured global partnership agreements with both BP and Shell.
Outwith Aberdeen, qedi also has offices in Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Houston, Dubai and Nigeria. The firm was set up in 1987.
