NORTH-EAST members of the Institute of Directors (IoD) will hear about the region’s renewable-energy potential during their next get-together in Aberdeen.
Speakers at the networking lunch on Thursday, May 15 – just a week before the All-Energy ’08 show and conference in the Granite City – include Aberdeen Renewable Energy Group (Areg) chairman Jeremy Cresswell, who is also editor of the Press and Journal’s Energy supplement, and Areg renewables champion Iain Todd.
IoD chairman Ken McEwen said: “Renewable Energy is presented as a huge opportunity that can transform Aberdeen from Europe’s leading oil and gas centre into a much broader based energy capital.
“This lunch should give our members and guests a very real understanding of the industry’s potential.
“Jeremy and Iain will be looking at the technologies available, the political background and the opportunities that renewables present for businesses in this area.”
The lunch takes place at the Royal Northern and University Club, in Albyn Place, from 12.30pm; for further details contact Kate Dow at IoD Scotland on 0131 557 5488, e-mail her at kate.dow@iod.com, or go to IoD Scotland’s website.
