ENI Norge has submitted the plan for the development and operation of the Goliat field in the Norwegian sector of the Barents Sea to Norway’s Ministry of Petroleum and Energy for its approval.
If all goes to plan, final processing of the development plan of the first ever Barents Sea oilfield development may be completed during Q2 this year.
Goliat is a strategic project for Eni as it is a state-of-the-art development with reduced emissions in an environmentally important area. The field was discovered in 2000 and five wells have been drilled to date. Exploitation will be based on a cylindrical floating production and storage unit.
