Champions of industry safety were celebrated at the 2018 OPITO global awards last night.
The ceremony was part of OPITO’s safety and competency conference in Kuala Lumpur, the only international event of its kind in the oil and gas calendar, attracting 400 delegates from around the world.
Stork’s Trinidad and Tobago branch picked up the “Skilled for Safety Champion” award, while Malaysia’s Wild Geese Group won “Digital Champion”.
Other accolades were picked up by industry leaders from PVD Technical Traiing and Certification, and P.T Samson Tiara, from Vietnam and Indonesia respectively.
Chief executive of OPITO, John McDonald, said: “This year’s award-winners have shown their long-term commitment to training, competence and safety in oil and gas.
“Their approach to raising safety awareness and delivering courses has been highly impressive and in some cases pioneering.
“The annual OPITO Global Awards are a chance to celebrate the achievements of everyone in the oil and gas industry. It’s clear that safety and competence remains highest on the agenda for the exhibitors and delegates of our conference and we know their influence extends throughout the industry.”
