Rolls-Royce has been awarded new contracts with a potential value of $651 million by Petrobras.
R-R will supply Petrobras with 32 RB211 gas turbine power generatio packages, including waste-heat recovery units, to meet the power generation requirements of eight Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessels.
The FPSOs are to be used for production from the pre-salt Lula (formerly Tupi) and Guará oilfields in the Santos Basin.
The turbines will be delivered in groups of four, with the first units scheduled for delivery in Q1 2013. Four turbine sets will be installed on each of the eight FPSO’s.
