NEXT month’s Subsea Europe conference and exhibition will focus on the issues of integrity and environmental management, particularly in highly sensitive environments such as the Barents Sea and Arctic regions.
Leading figures from the subsea industry throughout Europe will come together in Paris on October 27-28 to identify new strategies for managing the integrity and environmental risks to ensure subsea oil and gas production is both safe and clean.
Organised by Subsea UK in association with Scottish Development International, French oil and gas body GEP and Murmansk region trade association Murmanshelf the event will examine the changes and continuous improvement needed in subsea integrity management.
Subsea UK chief executive Alistair Birnie said: “As subsea exploration and production increases, so too do the challenges in this high-risk environment.
“Over the last 10 years, the industry has seen huge changes in new ways of producing with increasingly complex installations.
“With this growing sophistication comes a need to ensure that integrity is maintained to prevent environmental damage, to maximise system availability and to be able, when the need arises, to react quickly and effectively. Massive new field developments in planning in the Barents and the Arctic require the development of new strategies to address the environmental challenges and this event will centre around identifying the challenges, exploring solutions and sharing best practice.”
About 30 Subsea UK member companies will be showcasing the latest technology and services at the annual event.
