THE SapuraAcergy joint venture has been awarded a $160million contract by PTTEP Australasia, for the redevelopment of the Montara field in the southern Timor Sea.
SapuraAcergy’s contract involves the engineering, procurement, load-out, transportation and construction activities for the removal, and disposal of the existing topside facilities destroyed by the August 2009 blow-out.
It also allows for the transportation and installation of new pipelines, risers, umbilicals, spools, manifolds, FPSO mooring systems, and a new replacement topside, all of which will be undertaken at PTTEP’s Montara development.
Offshore installation is scheduled to be executed this year.
Jean Cahuzac, Subsea 7’s CEO, said: “This award reiterates the recognition of SapuraAcergy’s capability and versatility.”
