NEW training and consultancy firm IC Training has opened in Aberdeen to deliver an integrated package of training solutions for oil and gas businesses internationally, aimed at ensuring competence in the workforce in technical and operational disciplines.
Managing director Gavin McGill is aiming to reach a turnover of £2million in IC Training’s first year in business and create five full-time jobs besides having work for a pool of 20 qualified tutors and training consultants.
A £250,000 investment in an emergency response centre is also under way. This centre will provide an alternative emergency response facility to complement what is already offered in Aberdeen, and will always be ready to provide a complete service to companies in the event of a major incident or emergency on or offshore.
Based at Crombie House in Aberdeen’s harbour area, IC Training is benefiting from a £1million refurbishment of the building.
Mr McGill said: “Our goal is to provide a fully integrated service for all training needs, with an initial focus on operations and technical. We also believe this region needs another emergency response centre to offer clients choice, flexibility and best value.”
Mr McGill has 24 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry, and was with Petrofac Facilities Management, Petrofac Training, and Shell and Brown & Root.
