FMC Technologies is to manufacture and supply the subsea production equipment for the Marulk field development offshore Norway.
The company said that the award, a call-off from FMC’s existing frame agreement with Statoil, is worth about $62million and will bring work to its plant in Scotland.
Marulk, a gas/condensate field, is located in the Norwegian Sea on block 6507/2, some 30km south-west of the existing Norne field.
The initial development will comprise two wells tied back to the Norne floating production, storage and offloading vessel.
FMC’s scope of supply includes the manufacture of two subsea trees; one manifold; one template; subsea control modules and associated topside controls, and connection equipment.
The systems will be manufactured and assembled at FMC’s operations in Kongsberg, Norway, and Dunfermline, in Fife. Initial deliveries are scheduled to start in Q2 2011.
