FUGRO’S latest geophysical survey vessel, the Fugro Searcher, has been successfully launched at the Fassmer Shipyard in Germany.
The ship is currently in final fitting-out prior to a period of sea trials and is expected to be operationally ready for Fugro Survey in March.
This is the first new-build seismic-acquisition vessel designed and built by Fassmer in close co-operation with Fugro Survey in more than 20 years.
The 65m diesel-electric Fugro Searcher is laid out to enable simultaneous analogue/digital survey operations and AUV (autonomous underwater vehicle) operations, and it is capable of both geotechnical and remotely-operated vehicle support duties.
