FRENCH energy service giant Technip has landed its largest contract to date in UK waters.
It has been awarded a deal worth around £111million by Nexen Petroleum UK for the Golden Eagle development in the North Sea.
The project involves the manufacture, installation and commissioning of flowlines and umbilicals, as well as commissioning support.
Bill Morrice, managing director of Technip in the UK said: “This award is extremely exciting for us as it represents a key milestone in terms of contract size.
“We very much look forward to working with Nexen and to playing a significant part in this important field development.”
Technip’s operating centre at Westhill, near Aberdeen, will execute the project, which is due to be completed in the second half of 2014.
The company employs more than 26,000 people worldwide, including 800-plus at Westhill.
