THE managing director at the Aberdeen office of engineering and consultancy firm Poyry, Steve Fogg, has been appointed as the group’s new European president for oil and gas.
Poyry, based in Vantaa, Finland, said Mr Fogg would continue to head up its Granite City operation in addition to his new responsibilities for overseeing the “corporate management, growth and commercial success” of European oil and gas services.
Other UK offices plus sites in Norway and Spain now come under the supervision of Mr Fogg, who joined IGL Oil and Gas Consultants – later acquired by Poyry – in 1996.
He became operations director at IGL in 2003 and was made managing director soon after its acquisition in 2006.
Mr Fogg has previously worked for several major companies in the offshore and engineering sectors, and he is called on regularly to give technical advice in commercial disputes.
Poyry oil and gas president Grant Innes said: “Steve is one of the most experienced engineers in the industry and I am delighted to announce his promotion.
“I have no doubt that under his leadership our oil and gas business in Europe will continue to grow.”
Poyry’s oil and gas clients include major multinational operators, national oil companies and smaller independents. The group, which also operates in the forestry, transport, construction, water and environment industries, has more than 500 multi-disciplined oil and gas consultants worldwide.
