Fledgling oil and gas service firm Industrial Solutions International is celebrating a successful year, having doubled annual turnover to £500,000, grown its workforce and relocated to new premises.
It moved to bigger offices and a new workshop at Arnhall Business Park, Westhill, last March and now has plans for expansion into new markets in Australia and the US.
Director Alastair MacDonald said: “Turnover has been increasing significantly each year since we started two-and-a half-years ago.
“The last financial year’s turnover of half a million pounds was more than double the previous year and we will continue this trend.
The company said it had also won new deals with major North Sea operators for contracts worth more than £200,000, and taken on extra staff to increase the total workforce to five.
The expansion comes after help from Aberdeenshire Council’s Support for Aberdeenshire Business scheme, Business Gateway and Scottish Development International.
Support of more than £5,000 allowed the company to buy computer software and take part in a workshop to prepare a strategy to raise turnover to £4million by 2013.
The software will be used to build 3D models of its ThinJack product, which uses computer-aided design to improve understanding of engineering solutions.
Aberdeenshire Council business development executive Douglas Rennie urged other companies to take advantage of changes to the eligibility rules for the support initiative.
“The scheme has been expanded to help tackle the current economic downturn and businesses from any sector can now access the funding scheme and support from the team,” Mr Rennie said.
Firms must show how their expansion plans will benefit Aberdeenshire’s economy to be eligible for support under the scheme.
Applications are considered at regular intervals; for more details Mr Rennie can be contacted by phone on 01467 672536, or e-mail at douglas.rennie@aberdeen shire.gov.uk while information is also available via the council’s website.
