INTERNATIONAL oil and gas logistics company Asco said yesterday it had won three North Sea contracts, together worth more than £90million.
The firm, which has its headquarters in Aberdeen but also has a base at Peterhead, added that they were renewals of existing deals with Nexen Petroleum and Centrica Energy Upstream.
John Little, managing director of Asco’s UK and central Europe business, said: “These contract awards are testament to the long-standing relationships we have developed with Centrica Energy Upstream and Nexen in the UK. We look forward to providing them with the same safe, efficient and collaborative logistics service as we go forward.”
Asco said it had agreed two four-year deals with Nexen, valued at a combined £19million per year, supporting its operations in the central and northern North Sea.
The logistics company said the Centrica contract was worth £5million annually for three years and involved transport, waste management, fuel and port services for the operator’s drilling work in both the northern and southern North Sea.
Asco, which turns over £516million and employs about 700 people in the north-east, was sold last month in a deal believed to be worth up to £250million.
At the time, it said the sale to private equity firm Doughty Hanson would give it the investment to double in size within five years.
