NORTH-EAST oil and gas communications specialist Nessco said yesterday it had landed contracts worth more than £4million in Australia and Iran.
The company has also added 20 staff to its Westhill operation, bringing the workforce up to 150.
Nessco has received orders for its telecoms system-integration package for Woodside’s North Rankin B platform from EOS JV – a joint venture between Worley Parsons and KBR for the Australian north-western shelf – and from Iranian engineering contractor Sepanair for South Pars trains 15 and 16 for onshore Iran.
Nessco oil and gas division sales director Ian McPherson, said: “The award of these orders means that we are now in a strong position to deliver our forecasts for 2009-10.
“In addition, we have taken this opportunity in the current downturn to strengthen the organisation with additional key personnel. We have a healthy pipeline of opportunity going forward and are in a strong position to take advantage of any improvement in market conditions.”
