ABERDEEN-BASED Northern Offshore UK has been awarded a multimillion-pound contract with Caspian Drilling Company (CDC).
It is to provide support for drilling operations in the Caspian Sea, worth an estimated £12.75million-plus. The two-year contract involves the Dada Gorgud drilling rig in operations on acreage operated by BP.
Northern Offshore’s technical and operational support services will be provided predominantly by its Baku-based staff, with additional assistance from the operations team based in Aberdeen.
John Monks, general manager of Northern Offshore UK, said: “This is an important financial opportunity for Northern Offshore. It not only brings significant cashflow to the company, but also expands our working relationship with influential international oil and gas companies.”
