Oil and gas executive search specialist Maxwell Drummond has signaled its intent following the firm’s re-launch in November by unveiling a new director.
A former senior manager with Scottish Enterprise, the country’s main economic development agency, Lynn Carter has taken up the newly-created post and will help enhance the company’s existing suite of capabilities through her proven international expertise.
The firm, part of the Maxwell Drummond Group alongside Carlton Resource Solutions, provides executive search services to the energy industry and works closely with oil majors, independent operators and engineering contractors.
Lynn has an LLM (distinction) in Oil and Gas Law from Robert Gordon University (RGU) and possesses more than 15 years’ experience in oil and gas recruitment, executive search and global resourcing, including founding her own successful consultancy.
She was most recently manager for strategic relationships at Scottish Enterprise, having held various senior positions within the non-departmental public body since May 2015, helping shape its response to, and involvement in, tackling industry issues such as leadership capabilities and collaboration.
Her role evolved into leading a specialist team responsible for providing agile support to oil and gas companies, from technology start-ups to large operators, in direct response to the industry downturn. This included a director-level position charged with reporting increased activities to the Scottish Government’s Energy Jobs Taskforce as well as facilitating and chairing the Tier One Contractor Forum.
Lynn Carter, director at Maxwell Drummond, said: “I’m pleased to have taken on this exciting new position with a company that has a strong reputation, a unique approach to executive search and recruitment and a leadership team that is serious about its growth objectives.
“While there is still a sense of cautious optimism across the industry, companies are more willing to position themselves for recovery and ensure that they have the right talent in place to tackle challenges, such as the transition to a lower carbon economy, head-on.
“By working as a trusted partner, I am confident about what the remainder of 2019 and beyond holds for Maxwell Drummond and everyone associated with the business.”
Craig Finnie, managing director at Maxwell Drummond Group, said: “We’re extremely pleased to welcome someone of Lynn’s calibre to this key strategic role and look forward to introducing her to more of our clients and candidates.
“She brings an enviable track-record in supporting companies, large and small, from across the oil and gas industry spectrum throughout a broad range of roles which have given her a unique insight into ways in which we can further improve our own business and build upon the initial success of the group since its launch.”
In November, it was announced that a new leadership team – including prominent industry figure Andrew MacDonald and three of the founders of FG Associates – had re-established the well-known industry brand of Maxwell Drummond.
The newly-formed Maxwell Drummond Group, which encompasses Carlton Resource Solutions, FG Associates and Maxwell Drummond, has since relocated to new office premises at Albert Street, Aberdeen that houses a total of twelve staff.
