INTERNATIONAL consultancy EC Harris is seeking premises for an office in Aberdeen for its oil and gas arm.
EC Harris, which operates in the oil and gas, petrochemical, property, infrastructure, manufacturing and construction sectors, is serious about having an operation in the Granite City, a spokeswoman said yesterday.
The company’s oil and gas operations in strategic locations worldwide is still in its infancy, but already contributing annual turnover of £4million, an increase of 80% from a year ago.
Growth at EC Harris’s Houston and Middle East operations is already expected to help lift net profits from the group’s oil and gas business to £8million and turnover to about £24million within the next three years.
Calgary in Canada is another location now being looked at as EC Harris eyes expansion for its current network of energy and petrochemicals-focused offices in London, Houston and the Middle East.
Mark Howard, head of the firm’s industry sector, said: “Increasing global demand for oil and gas, coupled with a fall in oil price, uncertainty of costs and infrastructure shortages mean that there is a real need to effectively manage capital projects, bringing them in on-budget and on time.”
