A worker in Norway has won nearly £60,000 in lost earnings after she challenged helicopter firm Bristow.
The woman was able to bring a challenge against the firm through the rules of business transfer in Norway.
She lost her job after Equinor switched helicopter supplier from CHC Helicopter to Bristow in 2017, Norwegian news website Sysla reported.
Only two of the seven CHC employees were transferred to Bristow, the report said.
The woman won her case against the firm in Norway’s Court of Appeal and was awarded £56,500 in lost earnings.
Norwegian union Industri Energi lawyer Eyvind Mossige told Sysla: “This is a very important victory and not just for this one member.
“The victory will be significant far beyond this matter.
“This means that employees are guaranteed the right to move on even if the company they work for loses a contract and another takes over.
“Those who work at the heliport / airport itself have the right to keep their jobs.”
Industri Energi were also awarded £40,000 and £13,000 in legal costs from Bristow.
