SUBSEA 7 has secured contracts worth $520million from Chevron, covering work on the Gorgon gas project, offshore Western Australia.
A $440million package includes installation and tie-in of heavy lift structures in the Gorgon and Jansz
Fields, respectively 65km and 130km from Barrow Island, in water depths of up to 1,350m.
The project scope includes engineering, spools
fabrication, transportation, installation and pre-commissioning of:
o 20 subsea structures and foundations, each of up to 1,065 tonnes
o 15 heavy spools, each of up to 190 tonnes
o 48 tie-in spools
o 39 electrical and 18 hydraulic flying leads
o five infield umbilicals and two distribution units.
A second $80million contract involves the transportation and installation of subsea umbilicals and related structures from Barrow Island to the fields.
The Gorgon and Jansz umbilicals are 59km and 135km long respectively. They will be manufactured in Europe and transported to Australia aboard the construction ship Seven Seas, then installed.
