Subsea specialist flexlife yesterday announced the appointment of two key players in the international energy sector to its board as non-executive directors.
The Aberdeen firm said David Cassie, commercial executive vice-president at Subsea7, and Amec strategy and growth director Sandy Clark both had outstanding industry pedigrees, with vast experience and knowledge of the market that would help its future expansion.
In a further move to position flexlife for growth, a director of sales and marketing and finance director have also been appointed.
The sales and marketing role has gone to Charles Cruickshank, who has more than 30 years’ industry experience, most recently as global vice-president/director at German company Germanischer Lloyd.
Mr Cruickshank’s career has also included business-development director positions at Aker Kvaerner Engineering Services and Hertel Services.
Flexlife’s new finance director, John Duncan, has spent 19 years in financial roles, including 10 years in the oil and gas industry.
He is finance director at Aberdeen-based oil and gas service firm XPD8 Solutions.
Stuart Mitchell, flexlife’s chief executive, said: “Having people of such exceptional calibre is highly significant for our future growth ambitions.
“They have incredible amounts of experience and enviable reputations built up over the years.
“We are delighted they have joined us at such an important time for flexlife, with major developments planned for the business.”
Flexlife, founded in 2007, is targeting turnover of £7.5million this year, rising to £21million by March 2013.
It currently employs 40 people but expects to take on a further 20 over the next 18 months.
Maven Capital Partners and Simmons Parallel Energy recently invested £5.5million in the business to help complete the commercialisation of new products and underpin future research and development.
