PDC Systems, which provides hazardous area electrical instrumentation for the international oil and gas and petrochemical industry, has moved to a new base at Kintore, near Aberdeen.
The new factory and yard are more than four times the size of the company’s previous premises in Inverurie and represent an investment of £600,000.
Richard Cowling, director and joint owner of PDC Systems, said: “The move to our new factory in Kintore comes at a time of continuing growth in the business.
“We are experiencing particular demand in export markets and now around 60% of our control systems are destined for the US, the Middle East and Far East.
“We are planning to move into the Chinese and Australian markets in the coming months.
“Over the past two years, the business has grown about 30% and we are very positive about the future, especially now that we have purpose-built facilities and an expanded team in place.”
Located on a half-acre site on the Craigearn Business Park at Kintore, PDC Systems’ factory extends to 4,200sq ft.
The move has resulted in six new jobs immediately and the business expects to create five more jobs by the middle of 2009.
PDC Systems was established in 1993 by Mr Cowling and his wife, Pat. With a total workforce of 15 and an annual turnover of £2million, the company also provides project management services in hazardous-area equipment.
