An Aberdeen-headquartered energy service company has continued its recruitment drive with the addition of four new employees.
Katoni Engineering now has 34 staff members at its base on Queens Road, compared to 14 a year ago, and expects to increase its headcount to 45-50 over the next 12 months.
The company is also “on the verge” of signing a further framework agreement with a major UKCS focused operator.
The new recruits include process engineer Joanne McCloskey, whose former employers include Shell, and senior electrical engineer Nick Bramhall, who used to work for WorleyParsons, ConocoPhillips and Amec Foster Wheeler.
Ms McCloskey and Mr Bramhall have been hired to help Katoni meet demand from existing clients, including Apache, CNR and Chevron.
They have been joined by former Wood employee Stephen Gillan, who will head up the construction team, and Duncan Brown, piping engineer.
The firm specialises in engineering, procurement and construction services in the North Sea oil and gas sector, and has a base in Mexico and interests in Ghana.
Katoni general manager James Bream said: “We are at a key point of our growth strategy and investing in our team will help ensure we keep delivering the high quality work our growing customer base obviously values.
“Over the next six months we’ll continue to recruit and will be making further investment in our systems.
“We are going to be relentless in embedding QHSE (quality, health, safety and environment) in the culture of our business to make sure we are leading the way in the north-east.”
