GOVERNMENT and industry figures will meet in Stornoway in June to raise the profile of the Outer Hebrides’ energy prospects.
North Scotland Industries Group chief executive Ian Couper said: “The Outer Hebrides holds a great deal of potential in the energy industry and we hope this event will provide key industry figures with an understanding of the importance of the area for the future and what it has to offer.
“Our aim is to help support and raise the profile of energy-related businesses in the Outer Hebrides and seek to assist local businesses by exploiting opportunities, enhancing business prospects and addressing issues of concern.
“The next few years are vital for the energy industry in the north of Scotland and we must ensure that we are doing all that we can in the sector to maximise opportunities.”
The event is on June 29 and 30.
