WELDING group Serimax said yesterday it had spent £5million on new equipment being rolled out worldwide, including at its UK base at Evanton, in Ross-shire.
The Paris-based firm said its investment in the latest welding technology and processes consolidated its position as a world leader in automated and high-production welding systems.
It added it expected its Scottish operations to contribute an estimated £20million to group turnover of about £135million this year, having secured key contracts with leading oil and gas companies. Vice-president Kenny Coutts said innovation and new technology were core drivers for the group’s continued growth.
