TOTAL Waste Management Alliance (TWMA), the environmental service specialist, has already landed contracts totalling about £10million in the North Sea this year.
The Aberdeen-based company, which employs around 300 people worldwide, has supplied its TCC-RotoMill technology and workers to treat and recycle by-products of the drilling process for North Sea clients including Total, Petrofac, Maersk and AGR.
One of the main rolling contracts for TCC-RotoMill services is on the Stena Spey semisubmersible rig at the West Don field development for Petrofac.
TWMA has handled, processed and disposed of nearly 1,200 tons (1,080 tonnes) of drill cuttings. TWMA general manager Neil Thomson said: “Having the TCC-RotoMill onsite on the rig meant there was no costly downtime and also meant more than 2,000 crane lifts and all associated logistics were avoided so it was clearly extremely successful in terms of environmental, cost and health and safety performance.”
Outwith the UK, TWMA has operations in Egypt, Nigeria, Norway, America, Kuala Lumpur, Dubai and Libya.
