INTERNATIONAL oilfield service company Expro has named Chris Mawtus as its new chief operating officer.
The appointment comes just over three months after executive chairman Graeme Coutts temporarily took on the additional role of chief executive to replace Gavin Prise, who was chief operating officer for three years before becoming chief executive last May.
Mr Mawtus is now responsible for day-to-day operations of the company around the world, reporting directly to Mr Coutts. Prior to being named chief operating officer, Mr Mawtus was the Houston-based president of Expro North America.
He joined Expro in 1990 as a drill stem test development engineer and went on to hold a variety of senior management positions in technical and commercial operations with the company in Europe, Asia, Africa and North America.
“Being appointed COO of Expro is an honour and a huge opportunity for me,” Mr Mawtus said yesterday.
Mr Coutts said: “Chris Mawtus is an incredibly talented and driven individual who has built a great reputation around delivering results. These attributes, combined with his impressive track record, make him the ideal COO.”
