ORGANISATIONS and individuals in the oil and gas industry have been encouraged to share their stories of success and put themselves forward for the Offshore Achievement Awards 2012.
Nominations have opened for the honours, which have a 25-year history but were not held this year.
The awards were previously organised by Scottish Enterprise, but are now arranged by the Aberdeen section of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
Main sponsor is TAQA Bratani, with media sponsorship coming from the Press and Journal.
The awards will be open to entries from UK-registered companies and offshore renewables firms will be eligible to enter for the first time alongside the traditional oil and gas players.
Society chairman Masud Javaid, of Total Exploration & Production UK, said organisers had received a strong response from the energy industry since relaunching the event.
He said: “The awards have been generally regarded as the most prestigious and there has been huge competition each year among innovative, forward-thinking companies operating in our sector to be recognised as outstanding world leaders.
“We are anticipating a high level and exceptional quality of entries and are looking forward very much to the awards ceremony next year.”
As well as the marine renewable energy award, categories include new idea, the innovator and great small and large companies.
Companies will also be recognised for achievements in exports, safety innovations and cooperation.
An award will also be handed out to the year’s top young professional.
The ceremony is on Thursday, March 15, in the Ardoe House Hotel, near Aberdeen. For more information, visit www.spe-oaa.org
