THE international trade division of Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce has returned from a trade mission to east Africa which focused on energy and associated sectors.
UK-based companies travelled to Kampala in Uganda and Dar-es-Salaam in Tanzania to meet local businesses and government officials to discuss possible export trade opportunities and future partnering.
Mission leader Julien Masse said: “Both these east African regions are in the embryonic stages of developing their oil and gas infrastructure and it makes sense for UK to showcase their range of proven products and services to win early market share. As a direct result of our visit many of the delegates received inquiries of interest and were added to vendor lists for upcoming contracts.”
He said the feedback was so positive that a return visit to Uganda and Tanzania will be made in April next year.
