SPECIALIST oilfield production chemical company Champion Technologies is celebrating the award of a substantial contract from Wood Group.
The deal, understood to potentially be worth up to £19million over five years, involves the provision of production chemicals and related services to support the Aberdeen-based group’s activities in the North Sea.
Initially a three-year contract, there are two one-year options which could increase the value of the deal significantly over the period.
Stuart Mathieson, Champion’s UK business manager, said: “Wood Group has been a customer for a number of years. I look forward to continuing this relationship for many years to come and building on the success we have already achieved.”
The deal involves work supporting operations on the Hummingbird, Voyageur and Triton floating production, storage and offloading vessels, the Beatrice and Jacky platforms and the Nigg oil terminal.
Houston-based Champion has its eastern hemisphere headquarters in Aberdeen.
The company operates in more than 50 countries, employing about 2,500 people.
