Anyone planning to attend the next Press and Journal Energy Ball will have to get a move on.
Tickets are already selling fast for the big summer night out, which is a highlight of the Scottish social calendar.
A wide spectrum of the business community from home and abroad will gather at Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre on Saturday, August 18, for another evening of top-class food and entertainment.
Around 1,200 people attended this summer’s sellout event, and more than half the tables for 2012 are already booked.
This will be the fifth annual ball held in the Press and Journal Arena and entertainment will include the Magic of Soul and Motown and electric string quartet Escala.
This year’s Press and Journal Energy Ball gave a £30,000 boost to Monty’s Maggie’s Appeal.
The campaign is raising £3million for a new centre at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
The 2012 ball title sponsor – who is yet to be named – will have the opportunity to have their company name linked to the event title and also choose the official charity which will benefit from the event.
Press and Journal editor Damian Bates said: “The Press and Journal Energy Ball is the biggest and best event of its kind in Scotland.
“It’s a phenomenal night to celebrate the great impact the oil and gas sector, as well as renewables, has had on the region, and to enjoy great food, wonderful company and some rather dodgy dancing. Anyone who has attended will tell you that it has become a major date in the region’s social calendar and they wouldn’t miss it.”
Organiser George Walker said next year’s event would be bigger and better than previous balls.
He added: “The fantastic line-up of live entertainment and other attractions will blow our guests away.”
Guests at this summer’s ball were greeted by a transformed Press and Journal Arena.
The venue was almost unrecognisable as guests milled among sports cars, a helicopter and even gleaming farm machinery.
The helicopter was a popular attraction, while attendees also had the chance to take a look over glittering jewellery or try their hand at Nintendo Wii videogame consoles.
The ball is the biggest dinner of the year for Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre.
The venue had a team of more than 160 staff on duty four months ago to make sure everything ran smoothly.
Eleven chefs, eight kitchen porters and 70 food waiting staff were on duty together with 70 bar staff.
There is already a long list of sponsors for next year’s Energy Ball and this is growing steadily.
Mr Walker said: “I am delighted that our valued sponsors really do feel the benefits of being associated with such a high-profile and prestigious event.”
Sponsors to date include:
Grampian Continental (gold sponsor); Port Services (silver sponsor); Bristow (silver sponsor); Panalpina (silver sponsor); North East Telecommunications (bronze sponsor); Westerton (bronze sponsor); Precision Oiltools (bronze sponsor); Axis Well Technology (bronze sponsor); Eastern Airways (bronze sponsor); Pentagon Freight Services (bronze sponsor); OPS Group (bronze sponsor); Helix Well Ops (bronze sponsor); John Clark Motor Group (car sponsor); Holiday Inn (hotel sponsor); Greybar Design (design sponsor); Service Point (print sponsor); Maritime Assurance and Consulting (bronze sponsor); and Integrated Engineering Services (Aberdeen) (supporting sponsor).
