A NORTH-EAST company involved in the design and manufacture of wireline pressure-control equipment, winches and subsea crown plugs has opened a base in Brazil.
NOV Asep Elmar has established a manufacturing and service hub in Macae, Rio de Janeiro, to target the South American market and manufacturing is already under way to deliver high-pressure subsea crown plugs for a global pressure-control company.
The Westhill-based firm said its Brazilian base would create up to 45 local jobs, with expertise from its north-east operation assisting in the initial setup of the new site.
Andrew Douglas, sales and marketing director of NOV Asep Elmar, said: “The opening of our base in Brazil marks further progress in our strategy to grow the business in this market, and Macae is an excellent point from which we can access the entire Latin America region.”
NOV Asep Elmar has about 800 employees throughout its manufacturing and service locations in Europe, North and South America, the Middle East and Far East.
