ABERDEENSHIRE company EFF Offshore Solutions is eyeing a £1million annual turnover by the end of next year after increases of 53.5% and 20.2% during its second and third years of trading.
The growth so far has led owner Mark Grant to consider adding at least two staff to the workforce of only two.
EFF, based at Balmacassie Industrial Estate, Ellon, was founded in September 2007 as part of Denmark’s HKJ Group.
Originally set up to stock and supply hammer swivel joints and other specialised equipment to the drilling industry, it soon grew its range to include a wide variety of pipeline equipment.
Mr Grant has moved the business recently from Altens, in Aberdeen, to take advantage of larger premises.
He said the new site also gave the firm easy access to “any number of freight forwarders able to transport our goods both nationally and internationally”.
The company – previously HKJ Offshore Solutions – has also had a change of name.
Turnover grew to £583,000 last year – from £485,000 in 2009 – and Mr Grant, who now wholly owns the business after buying out HKJ’s share last year, said annual profits were also up by about 20%.
EFF achieved the ISO9001 quality benchmark recently for its management systems, which Mr Grant said had been a key step in the company’s development.
