THE Aberdeen branch of the Society for Underwater Technology (SUT) enjoyed a bumper annual dinner, with 260 guests gathering in the city’s Marcliffe Hotel.
Branch chairman Jim Mann, of Fugro, presented Linda Bremner, of Marathon Oil, with the annual award in memory of a former branch chairman, Martin Richmond, who died three years ago, aged 52.
Sponsored by J.P. Kenny and SUT, the prize takes the form of a painting by a student at the city’s Gray’s School of Art and is presented to a mature postgraduate student who has combined work in the industry with part-time study.
Martin’s widow, Anne, and artist Fiona Taylor attended the ceremony.
