The Energy Institute’s branch for Aberdeen, Highlands and Islands has appointed its first ever woman chairperson.
Rebecca Allison, part of the Oil and Gas Technology Centre’s (OGTC’s) leadership team, takes over the role from Laurie Mackay.
Ms Allison, asset integrity solution centre manager at the OGTC, said: “I look forward to playing a part in progressing the excellent work the EI has been doing locally for many years.
“The branch has built up an excellent representation of local industry and academia who are brought together by the work of the EI.
“I am very grateful to Laurie and the rest of the team for their efforts in getting the branch to where it is today, and I look forward to building on their hard work.”
Aberdeen, Highlands & Islands is one of the two biggest EI branches.
It has an active membership of around 2,000 industry representatives from across the region and runs a busy schedule of events ranging from technical meetings and industry visits to the flagship annual dinner at Aberdeen’s Marcliffe Hotel & Spa.
