ENERGY firm Centrica said yesterday it was continuing to make good progress in its Aberdeen-based upstream oil and gas business, particularly in development projects and exploration.
The comments came as the Scottish Gas owner scaled back its profit forecast from market expectations of £2.6billion.
It said average residential gas consumption was 17% lower year-on-year, with electricity usage down by 3% after unseasonably warm weather.
The number of customer accounts fell to 15.9million from 16.1million after the energy supplier lifted gas and electricity prices by an average of 18% and 16% respectively from August.
Centrica also said it was cutting about 850 jobs in residential services.
