ABERDEEN fastener distributor Grampian Fasteners has landed an 18-month contract valued at about £200,000 with subsea engineering and construction firm Subsea 7.
The deal covers the provision of industrial fasteners, which include fixings such as bolts, screws, nuts and washers, for Subsea 7’s UK operations and comes following other recent wins from leading oil and gas service companies such as Halliburton, Aker Solutions and Weatherford.
Grampian Fasteners, which is based at Dyce, hopes these recent contract wins will help it to meet its objective of increasing its customer base of 1,100 customers and the £2.2million turnover enjoyed in the past financial year.
Gary Henderson, the company’s managing director, said: “Fasteners can appear relatively insignificant in the context of multimillion-pound oil and gas projects.
“But we understand that our clients are looking for value and good service in all aspects of their operations and I am confident that our focus on the timely delivery of safe and quality products at a competitive price will ensure the sustained growth of our business.”
Grampian Fasteners holds more than 10million fasteners in stock.
The family-run company, founded in 1992, is in the process of developing its range of engineering consumables to continue business growth. It has a workforce of 25, but with the company also looking at ways to expand into products other than fasteners more jobs could follow.
Meanwhile, Grampian Fasteners has introduced Kintore-based Safelift Onshore’s range of manual handling and lifting equipment to its range of products.
Safelift Onshore is a division of Safelift Offshore, which has supplied the offshore oil and gas industry for 15 years.
