FROM Q3 2008, the University of Leeds is offering a new three-year BEng (Honours) undergraduate degree course in petroleum engineering. The diet comprises:
Students must have three Bs at A level, two of which must be in mathematics, physics, chemistry or geology. You must also have GCSEs or the equivalent in English, mathematics, physics and chemistry if you don’t have them at A level.
Leeds also accepts the Scottish equivalents, international qualifications of an equivalent standard as well as recognised foundation or access courses.
The course begins in September and, while it may be too late to get on to the 2008 programme – UCAS is currently processing applications made several months ago – it may be worth laying down a marker for 2009.
