A subsidiary of former Halliburton firm KBR is to design a new advanced harsh environment accommodation rig, to be built by Jurong Shipyard.
The GVA 3000E accommodation unit, to be designed by GVA’s Sweden design team for Prosafe, is to be used in the North Sea Norwegian Continental Shelf.
It will have DP3 and a 12-point mooring arrangement, be capable of accommodating 450 people and a deckload work area payload capacity of 1,900 tonnes maximum.
It is the fourth rig designed for Prosafe by a GVA engineering team in Sweden. The license agreement with Jurong also includes options for two more units.
